Web3 Intelligence for Legal Services

W3S aims to help lawyers custody their intelligence and deploy effective legal strategies in a world being transformed by super intelligence and web3 systems.

None of what follows is for sale. It is what we are working on, and we want to hear which parts matter to your firm.

Three places a firm's intelligence can run

Where each system runs depends on the work and on what the firm decides. The difference between the three is who can see.

Where would you want your firm's work to run?

Your answers are kept as you go and collected at the end of the page.

We push toward local control.

Some functions need more than the firm's own machines can give. The firm knows which level a function uses before anything leaves.

W3S can also provide white-label versions, so that others can put their own name and branding on these systems.

What we're working on

These are our ideas so far. We also want to hear yours: after the list there is a place to tell us what you would want built.

Trial intelligence

Your own stenographer sits beside you and types the testimony. Your laptop reads it as it arrives and flags objections, contradictions and your own notes. No audio is recorded.

Internal intel

Agents read the case file, name every person, event, object and place, and connect them into a map that shows conflicts and things that cannot be true. You can correct any of it by hand.

FOIA intelligence

Public records take months. An agent built for FOIA and the state records laws writes each request, counts every deadline, follows up when an agency goes quiet, and drafts the appeal when records are withheld. A lawyer signs what goes out.

Intake and attorney matching

Every intake is a negotiation of language. A model on the firm's side handles chat, phone calls and other people's agents, and a lawyer approves every outcome.

Client chat

Your clients are going to ask a chatbot. This gives them the firm's: a private chat where a lawyer answers the legal questions and files go straight into the matter.

Time tracking and billing

Time is captured as the work happens, to a thousandth of an hour. Each entry is sealed with a hash, so a client can verify an invoice without asking the firm.

Leak tracing

Every copy carries its own invisible mark, for the firm's documents and for images your clients share. When one leaks, the mark leads back to one copy and one person.

Crypto intel

Money moves on public ledgers, sometimes through software that holds its own funds. The firm's intelligence reads the ledger and shows where the money went and who can be served.

Live counsel

Smartglasses carry what a client sees and hears to their lawyer, who answers in their ear while it is happening.

Stolen-data detection

When the other side knows something only a thief could know, a traceable item planted earlier proves where it came from.

Exposure watch

Agents sweep the open web, the breach indices and a licensed dark-web feed for a client's name, address and accounts, on a schedule. Each account carrying a statement is scored as a person or a bot, and every finding is hashed and timestamped as it is found. Sold as software to licensed investigators and to firms, who run it themselves.

Evidence provenance

A post can be gone or changed tomorrow. Capture it now and sign the capture: what was shown, when, and by whom. C2PA does this for photographs. W3S extends the same manifest to web pages, documents, recordings and chat exports, and tests the other side's unsigned exhibits the same way.

Something of your own

Every firm works differently, and the systems above are only where we started. Tell us what you would want built for your firm, or how you would change one of ours.

Would you want to talk it through with us?

Tell us what matters to your firm

This is an invitation to a discussion. What you marked on the way down is collected here. Check it, add your name, and send.

We read every response, and we write back if you ask us to.

Other projects

The systems above are for law firms. They come out of work Web3 Services has done since 2023 on keys, provenance and private communication. These are its other projects.

  • live.law

Software that streams what a smartglasses wearer sees and hears to a licensed attorney, who advises in real time once a representation exists.

  • PrivateBond

Media sharing in which each viewer receives an invisibly watermarked copy, so that a leak can be traced to the person who leaked it.

  • Stegstr

Open-source software that hides encrypted messages in ordinary images, in a form that survives the recompression WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram apply.

  • Agentsmith

A portal that helps a lawyer or a licensed investigator learn whether the other side is using stolen data about a client, and prove it. Under development.

  • ClientFeeds

A feed, open only to verified lawyers, of people who asked to hear from a lawyer. A firm that cannot take a matter can list it there with the person's informed consent.

  • wildagent.io

Autonomous agents that run on permissionless infrastructure and pay for their own compute. Each answers to one cryptographic key, held on a physical device by one person.

Web3 Services, LLC

Web3 Services, LLC provides technology consulting services about web3 systems. We build custom applications, with a particular interest in intelligence, private key cryptography, and web3 systems.

Web3, for a law firm, means holding your own keys: your own models, your own machines, your own records, with nothing between you and your client that you did not choose.

Our relay runs Buzz, an open-source Nostr relay for human and agent collaboration, at wss://buzz.web3services.net. Join our Buzz relay (requires the Buzz app).
